Painting a Sunrise

Today I started on my next large piece in watercolour. I had heard yesterday that there seems to be alot of pressure on watercolour artists when painting skies, but in particular sunrises and sunsets. This went on gently and slowly with approximately 7 glazes.. and may I say.. let's not fear those gorgeous opaque colours in our pallette like titanium white and Naples yellow. On this piece I used them for the top glaze! Mixing in some red with them I was also able to achieve some gorgeous yummy warm peach overtone. Fear not the watercolours!! HAVE FUN
